1. Buy from Trusted Sources
-Reputable refurbished sellers — graded iPhones (Grade A/B/C) are -tested and described clearly.
-Local marketplaces — like Facebook Marketplace or Bikroy, but meet in person and inspect first.
-Avoid upfront payments to unknown sellers — no pics, no deal.

2. Verify the Model & Specs
-Confirm the exact model, storage, and specs with the seller.
-Check the IMEI/Serial (Settings → General → About or dial *#06#) and verify it on official Apple or IMEI check tools.
3. Check iCloud & Activation Lock
Before buying, make sure the previous owner has signed out of their Apple ID and disabled Find My iPhone — otherwise, you can’t use the phone.
4. Check Network Lock & Blacklist
– See if the phone is carrier unlocked or locked to another network (won’t work with your SIM).
– Use IMEI to check if it’s blacklisted (reported lost/stolen) — blacklisted iPhones may initially work but can be blocked later.
5. Battery Health Is Key
– Go to Settings ➝ Battery ➝ Battery Health — ≥80% is decent; under that, you’ll likely have to replace the battery soon.
– Some sellers fake this number — consider using tools like 3uTools or coconutBattery if possible.
6. Test Phone Hardware Thoroughly
– Screen & Touch
No flicker, dead pixels, discoloration, or third-party screen warning (True Tone missing can mean a fake panel).
– Cameras & Sensors
Test front and rear cameras photo/video quality.
Check Face ID/Touch ID — make sure they work reliably.
– Speakers & Microphones
Play sounds & make a call to ensure good audio quality.
– Buttons & Ports
Test buttons (volume, side) and charging port/adapter.
7. Check for Water or Physical Damage
– Inspect for dents, cracks, corrosion, or water indicators in the SIM tray — water damage can cause future failures.
– Remove any case/screen protector to see the full body.
8. Ask for Box & Original Accessories
Original box, receipt, and charger add value and help confirm authenticity.
9. Compare Price with Market
Check average prices for that model in Bangladesh so you don’t overpay. Extremely low prices can be too good to be true.
10. Before Finalizing
Meet in a safe public place (mall, cafe)
Bring your own SIM and test it on the spot
Reset the phone in front of the seller to ensure it isn’t activation locked.
